CCP seeks salary grants of Rs 13.46 cr due since 2010

PANJIM: In a bid to make City Corporation self sufficient, Mayor Surendra Furtado has petitioned State government to release salary grants of over Rs 13.46 crore due since 2010-11 to 2014-15.

PANJIM: In a bid to make City Corporation self sufficient, Mayor Surendra Furtado has petitioned State government to release salary grants of over Rs 13.46 crore due since 2010-11 to 2014-15.
In a letter to Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), Furtado has also pointed out that the VIth pay commission, currently implemented by the government, is not been made applicable to the municipal common cadre staff and also the dearness allowance (DA).
As per the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) information, for the year 2010-11 of the total amount claimed Rs 2.77 crore, corporation received Rs 1.28 crores while the balance amount of Rs 1.46 cr was not released.
Shockingly for the year 2013-14 and 2014-14 it received no grants even as Corporation had made claim for over Rs 10 crore. For the year 2013-14 it had asked for over Rs 4.29 crore and in 2014-15 it submitted proposal for almost 5.97 crore.
