Manickam Tagore appointed AICC In-Charge of Goa

He replaces Dinesh Gundu Rao, who held the post since September 2020; Rao will continue as AICC In-Charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

PANJIM: Senior Congress leader and Tamil Nadu MP Manickam Tagore has been appointed as the All India Congress Committee (AICC) In-Charge of Goa with immediate effect. 

Tagore replaces Dinesh Gundu Rao, who held the post since September 2020. However, Rao will continue AICC In-Charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Tagore was earlier AICC In-Charge of Telangana, where the party has now appointed Manikrao Thakre as AICC In-Charge.

There are reports that the party chose to replace Dinesh Rao following ongoing fight between the two neighbouring States over diversion of Mhadei water, Rao is also likely to contest the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly elections.

Congratulating Manickam Tagore on his appointment, GPCC president Amit Patkar said that his experience in the organisation will surely help in guiding and motivating Team Goa Congress. He has promised him to work with utmost dedication to build the organisation in the State.
