MARGAO: Damodar Higher Secondary School, Guddi thrashed Government Higher Secondary School, Canacona 3-0 to romp into the finals of South District under-17 Subroto Mukerjee inter-school football tournament at Carmel college ground, Friday. Damodar led 1-0 at the breather.
Damodar dominated the game and kept their opponents on the back-foot in both the sessions. Benny Fernandes opened the scoring when he slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot.
Spurred by the early success, Damodar tormented the fragile rival defence with sporadic raids and doubled the lead in the second session and Cajetan Fernandes drove the last nail into rival coffin.
