PANJIM: Delta Corporation’s offshore casino M V Horseshoe has applied for Consent to Operate under Water and Air act with the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB).
The application filed a month back, is pending before the Board, which has sought detailed  information about the sewage disposal and treatment of other waste generated aboard the vessel.
The Company has applied under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
Goa government has already turned down the permission for starting a new casino on the ship in lieu of the existing casino.
BJP-led government faced severe criticism for contemplating to give permission to M V  Horseshoe to replace M V Arabian Sea, which already had the permission to run a casino.
M V Horseshoe is owned by businessman Jaydev Mody, who holds three of the five operational offshore casino licences in Goa.
