30-year-old K’taka native crushed to death by earthmover

PANJIM: A 30-year-old man from Karnataka was killed after a JCB driver accidentally started the vehicle at Nagoa on Saturday.

According to the police, the deceased identified as Prashant Pawar, a daily wage worker, hailing from Karnataka and currently residing at Viegaswado, Arpora, was crushed by the JCB which was driven by one Rajendra Shriknat Shirodkar, 38 from Daiswaddo.

Prashant sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim. On the complaint of Anil S Pawar, brother of the accused, the Anjuna Police registered an offence under section 279 and 304 A of IPC. The case is being investigated by PSI R Harijan.
