“Calangute traffic cell has requested for a towing vehicle, vehicle, besides co-operation in traffic arrangements in Calangute. The Calangute Panchayat has agreed to suggestions from Calangute traffic cell including towing van, vehicle, traffic arrangements in paddy fields in front of St Alex Church and providing a shuttle service free of cost to tourists from the parking lot,” said Sequeira.
“JICA has been asked to complete the works by November 23 and carry out repairs immediately or inform the panchayat if it is unable to carry out the works. Calangute Panchayat will carry out the works at its own expense. We want to cater to the budgeted tourists as well who come in their buses and other vehicles,” he added.
“We have decided to extend co-operation to the Calangute traffic cell for smooth flow of traffic and all panchayat members will personally monitor the traffic and other arrangements in their respective wards. We are not for publicity like our MLA who only blames Calangute Panchayat for any mess,” stated Sequeira.
