MARGAO: Assuring maximum relief through planned moves in two months, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has asked the liquor establishment owners in Goa to have patience.
The chief minister was speaking to the media during his visit to Fatorda. The liquor establishment owners of Margao had earlier met the chief minister and requested him to relook into the highway networks of Margao town and around.
Responding to their requests, the chief minister said, “Highways now have bypasses and we will notify the bypasses and de-notify the highways which pass through the towns.”
However, the chief minister was quick to add that it would require Central approval for denotification of the highways in the towns as they come under the Central purview.
“We are also examining the State Highways and we will accordingly take a call,” the chief minister said.
“We have been saying that if the people have patience of one or two months, many of them will get relief. But then, it requires proper application of mind, proper examination of the intricacies of the topic,” he added.
