CM seeks plan to rehabilitate youth involved in drug trade

PANJIM: The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has expressed concerns over the increasing number of Goan youth involved in the drug trade and directed the SP Anti-Narcotics Cell to come up with their rehabilitation plan.
Speaking to the media, the chief minister said, “The only rehabilitation centre in Goa is run by Krupa Foundation in Anjuna. So I have asked the SP ANC what help the government has been providing them or what is the government doing to get those involved in such cases out of the problem.”
He further said that his government would take the responsibility to rehabilitate any youth who is involved in drug cases. “There are also NGOs which have come forward to help us. If Goan youth have got entangled in drug trade, then, we will take steps to bring a stop the whole drug trade in the State,” he added.
