MARGAO: In an order issued by the Additional Director of Panchayats-II, South Goa, Florina Colaco e Fernandes, Xavier Fernandes, the panch member of Loutolim village panchayat was disqualified as an elected representative on the panchayat body.
This order was passed by the Additional Director of Panchayats-II, in connection with a petition filed by the complainant Franky Monteiro for the removal of Ex-Sarpanch Xavier Fernandes. “The complaint/petition dated 24/11/2020 filed the petitioner succeeds. The respondent (Xavier) is not eligible to continue as a member of the Village Panchayat Loutolim during the term for which he has been elected,” read the order.
