MAPUSA: Former champions Bethany Convent School, St Jose de Areal, defeated St Jude’s High School, Betalbatim, by a solitary goal to move into the quarters of the 25th Bro D O Slattery memorial inter-school football tournament organised by Regina Mundi School, Chicalim, at the RMS ground, Chicalim.
The all-important goal was scored by Fredan Pereira. In the other quarter-finals match, Perpetual Succour Convent beat Regina Martyrum School, Assolna, by four goals. Ethan Carvalho, Ashnoy Vaz, Royden Carvalho and Lisoy Gomes scored for the winners.
