Hanv Tum Tum Hanv set for release

Konkani feature film ‘Hanv Tum Tum Hanv’ is all set for release on December 13, 2015 at Ravindra Bhavan Margao. It is heartening to see a surge in quality Konkani cinema over the last year with films such as ‘Home Sweet Home’, ‘Enemy’ and Nachom-Ia Kumpasar’. Café finds out more about the latest addition to this glittering list

‘Hanv
Tum Tum Hanv’, produced by Eddie Fernandes under the banner ‘Ferns Production’,
is Goa’s first Sci-Fi film, based on a
very out-of-the-box concept of a medical experiment gone wrong. The plot goes
like this: A miserly old man, Jude, dies and his family desperately wants to
bring him back to life. So much so that they finally succeed! But something
goes terribly wrong and Jude doesn’t seem like his old self. What follows is a
humorous engaging drama with many twists. “It’s a total black comedy film,” say
the cast of the film.

The
highlights of the film are its intriguing visual effects, cinematography, storyline
and music. Ramprasad Adpaikar, the director, whose debut feature film was last
year’s ‘In Search of Mother’, has chosen a different method to woo the Goan
audience. This
is his second feature film as a director and screenwriter and he also has three
short films, which were screened at various state, national and International
film festivals, to his credit.

Revealing
how the film came to be, Adpaikar says, “I always wanted to do a sci-fi film.
When I finished writing my script, some final touches were needed so I
approached Les Menezes to help me in fine-tuning my script. Music director E R
Vinay and I then went to Eddie to ask him to help in producing the film. He was
happy with the script. He told us that he always wanted to make a Konkani film
and our project excited him.”

“It
is true that I always wanted to make a feature film; I’m glad that my dream
came true through this film. I am 300% confident that our movie will be a hit,”
says Eddie Fernandes, the proud producer.

“It’s
a very complex script we have finished in a very short span of time,” add Les
Menezes, co-screenplay-writer (with Adpaikar).

According
to the makers, the film explores how people face unusual challenges in their
lives. Everyone seems busy in being selfish, cheating, taking revenge and
taking relationships for granted. After the mistake is done, we hope to have a
second chance in life but we forget to realise that every moment we are living
is our second chance.
