PONDA: Ponda Deputy Collector Kedar Naik has directed the Usgao Panchayat to take action and clear the encroachment on Usgao Comunidade land in Survey No 308/1 allegedly carried out by respondent Sitaram Gaonkar, a resident of Usgao.
In this connection, Usgao Comunidade component Praveen S Usgaonkar along with other component had filed a petition in High Court with regards to illegal dumping of mud and encroachment activities allegedly carried out by Sitaram on comunidade land.
The High Court had directed the Deputy Collector to dispose of the complaint according to law.
Deputy Collector after conducting an inquiry directed the respondent Sitaram Gaonkar to restore the land in its original condition within 30 days of the receipt of order failing which the Usgao-Ganjem Panchayat Secretary shall with help of demolition squad execute the work of restoring the land to its original condition and recover cost incurred as panchayat arrears.
The Usgao panchayat was directed to ensure that no NOC for the purpose of electricity and water connection is issued to any person even under provision of the Health Act in the said property.
The VP secretary/sarpanch shall immediately file a FIR before Ponda Police Station if the present order is violated.
