Nuvem SC clinch Agassaim Villagers Cup

Win 3-2 via the tie-breaker over Candolim SC

AGASSAIM: Nuvem SC defeated Candolim SC 3-2 via the tie-breaker to lift the Agassaim Villagers Cup organised by Agassaim Youth Club, at Agassaim ground, on Sunday.
Candolim SC should have taken the lead through Anthony Fernandes but the latter’s shot hit the rival side netting in the 6th minute.  At the other end, Albino Pereira connected a well measured ball to Nuvem’s Godfrey Mascarenhas but the latter shot wide in the 34th minute.
Both the teams players tried to score but their strikers lacked sharpness. 
In the tie-breaker, Nuvem netted through Albino Pereira, Myron Pereira and Inacio Colaco while Anthony Fernandes and Nial Naik scored for Candolim SC.
The winners were awarded Rs 40,000 and the runners up pocketed Rs. 30,000 plus trophies.
Francis Silveira, MLA of St Andre Constituency was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of Juliano Colaco, Xavier Gracias, Sarpanch of Agassaim, Mathew Rodrigues, Armando Colaco, Andrew Vales and other dignitaries and club officials.
