MARGAO: Failure of the Crime Branch to lay their hands on the two absconding builders of Ruby Residency found its echo in the Special Court Margao on Wednesday.
Adv Antonio Clovis Costa, who is representing the kith of the victims, sought to know why the Crime Branch has till date not issued a red corner alert and sought the help of the CBI to involve the Interpol in nabbing the two builders. “It’s now two months since the building has collapsed and the builders are still absconding. Why have the investigating agency not alerted the Interpol through the CBI to arrest the builders”, Adv Clovis Costa wondered.
Crime Branch DySP Sammy Tavares, who was present in the court, in his reply mentioned that investigating agency has already issued a look-out notice for the builders.
He later told the media that the red-corner notice will come only after receiving information from
the immigration offices across the country that
the two builders have fled the country.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch has informed Special Judge Nutan Sardesai that the investigating agency has already attached 12 immovable properties owned by the two builders valued at Rs 25-30 crore, besides a BMW and Volkswagen car.
