High Court Issues Notices to Goa Government Over GPSC Chairman Appointment

The High Court has issued notices to the Goa government and other respondents in a public interest litigation (PIL) challenging the appointment of Dr Udaysinh Shrikant Raorane as Chairman of the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC).

The PIL was filed by activist Kashinath Shetye, who has raised questions over the procedure followed for Raorane’s appointment.

Shetye has alleged procedural violations, including the absence of an open selection process and a lack of antecedent verification. The petition also alleges favouritism in the appointment.
