VASCO: Vasco Police late Sunday evening arrested a 56-year-old man from New Vaddem, Vasco, on charges of attempting to molest a 15-year-old girl from Vasco.
According to Vasco Police Sub Inspector John Fernandes, the girl’s father complained that the accused allegedly tried to molest his daughter at about 6 pm on Sunday.
Vasco Police further informed that when the girl’s mother saw the accused trying to molest her daughter, she intervened and tried to save the child, but the accused assaulted the mother and threatened her not to disclose the incident to anyone.
Police said when the girl’s father returned home, his wife narrated the incident to him.
The girl’s father immediately lodged a complaint with Vasco Police, who immediately swung into action and arrested the accused under the Children Act.
Vasco Police is further investigating the case.
