SANGUEM: Rubbishing allegations by the Congress and NCP, Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai said that the purported brawl involving him and another MLA was an attempt by the Congress and NCP to malign the image of the BJP.
“The incident, as alleged by the Congress and NCP, never took place in New Delhi and it is being blown out of proportion. It is an issue created by NCP and Congress to malign the image of the BJP and more specifically my reputation,” Phaldessai told Herald.
Commenting on photos of the blood-stained shirt which were being circulated to media persons, Phaldessai replied: “The blood-stained shirt, which is being linked to me, does not belong to me at all. In fact, if you take a closer look at the shirt, it appears to be a woman’s top.”
When asked to explain the “injury” that he had reportedly sustained in New Delhi, Phaldessai said: “I was wearing rubber slippers and while hurrying to my room at the Goa Niwas, I slipped and hit my head on the wall.”
“If I have not filed any complaint in the matter, why should the Congress and NCP be concerned about my life?”
