Food is something we never want to
compromise on, but our busy schedules and life in general usually force our
hand. While nothing compares to the taste and health of a home cooked meal,
eating outside is a pleasure in its own right. Many of us have our favourite
joints that cook up treats that we love and trust but location and mobility
usually comes in the way of seeking these places at the drop of a hat. It is at
these times that the handy service of deliverimates.com steps in. The recently
launched website provides great food at your table, whether home or office, at
a nominal fee of just Rs 50, if it is from any of the restaurants they have a
tie up with.
Founded by Truven Jorge, Austin Vaz and
Kamlesh Naik, the website provides options of selecting dishes from the menus
of three restaurants, Goan Maharaja (Verna), Salt and Pepper (Colva) and
Peppers (Margao) with more restaurants to join the delectable list soon. After
the order has been placed, the delivery of the food is done within 60 minutes.

Margao based Truven Jorge met Austin from
Chandor and Kamlesh from Goa Velha while training in the automobile industry
and their friendship grew stronger thanks to their similar ideas.
Austin got the idea of starting the website
while he was browsing Facebook and came across food delivery sites in the UK. “Working
in Verna for an automobile company, during lunch time, our seniors would ask us
to go and get food for them. I realised that this must be a problem for many
employees who are working away from restaurants and have to carry food from
home. I shared the idea of delvierimates.com with my friends and Truven and
Kamlesh were eager about it,” says Austin, who has two more boys working with
him to deliver the food.
“Deliverimates.com will deliver your favourite
food at your doorstep; whether it’s your workplace or residence, we will be
there with a smile. Gone are the days when one had to go out in the scorching
heat or pouring rain in search of food. Now in a phone call, we deliver the
food in minutes at your desk. We started deliverimates.com with an aim to
bridge the gap between restaurants and customers who would love to savour their
meals at home or at work,” says Truven.
Living in the age of online shopping and
widespread use of internet and smartphones, deliverimates.com aims to cater to
the new segment of ‘convenience-seekers’. Currently set up in South Goa,
deliverimates.com are slowly but surely getting more orders every day. They
presently receive orders from Verna, Nuvem, Borda, Colva, Navelim, Chinchinim
and Savordem. “All one has to do is order the food and inform us or let us know
their order and which restaurant they prefer and we will get it for them within
60 minutes. We use containers to keep the food as warm as it is when prepared,
till it reaches the customer. Right know we are charging Rs 50 for delivery and
additional Rs 30 if it is a special request but soon we plan to charge Rs 4 per
kilometre which will be more convenient for the customer,” adds Austin.
Their future plans include providing tiffin
services from home to workplace and recipe based cooking ideas. “We will be
uploading recipes on the website with the ingredients required. If a customer
wants to cook that dish, they can order the ingredients from us. We will
deliver the exact quantity required for the dish, instead of the customer going
out to shop for ingredients,” says Austin.
