MAPUSA: Murod Boys registered a fluent 3-1 win over Confraria to move ahead in the Saipem inter-ward Soccer Cup, Candolim ground, on Sunday.
In the 12th minute, Caetano Xavier’s shot was brilliantly punched for a corner by Murrod keeper Trevor Antao.
Murrod surged ahead in the 20th minute when Sigmund Silveira’s power-packed shot gave no chance to Confraria keeper Brendon Fernandes with the ball going into the far corner of the goal post.
In the 38th minute, Murrod’s Saish Baghkar shot hit the crossbar.
In the 45th minute, Jayson Vaz dribbled past a couple of Murrod players and sent a cross to Ashok Kuttikar who placed the ball to the left of the Murrod keeper Trevor Antao to equalise.
Murrod scored twice as Steven Dias headed the ball into the Confraria net off a corner-kick created by Sigmund Silveira.
In the last minute of play, Steven Dias scored his second goal of a curling shot 3-1.
