PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader Rajani Patil, who has been asked to assess the party’s performance in Goa elections and suggest organisational changes after the debacle, will be on two-day visit to the coastal State from Tuesday.

Congress, which had emerged as single largest party in 2017 polls, was decimated to 11 seats in the recently held elections. Party’s poor performance had forced Indian National Congress (INC) President Sonia Gandhi to direct Goa Congress chief Girish Chodankar to tender resignation, which he did on March 15.
Goa Congress’ senior vice president MK Shaikh said that Patil, as directed by Sonia Gandhi, will be taking feedback from the MLAs, lost candidates, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office bearers and others on party’s debacle in the assembly elections.
As per her two day schedule, Patil will meet functionaries in the North Goa district Congress office on Tuesday between 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm and on Wednesday will visit the party’s campaign office in Patto, Panjim and the South Goa district Congress office in Margao.
