Mickky claims he has settled for 7 seats

`GVP will field candidates in Benaulim, Colva, Nuvem, Navelim, Velim, Raia and Curtorim ZP constituencies’

MARGAO: Goa Vikas Party has finally settled for seven seats as the party’s alliance partner, the BJP, is expected to contest the two seats of Sancoale and Cortalim, besides two seats of Guirdolim and Davorlim in Salcete taluka.
During an interaction with the media, GVP supremo Mickky Pacheco said he is happy with whatever seats allotted to the GVP in the seat sharing understanding. “The GVP will field candidates in Benaulim, Colva, Nuvem, Navelim, Velim, Raia and Curtorim ZP constituencies. The party has almost finalised the candidates and their names will be unveiled in a day or two”, Mickky said.
Replying to a question whether he is happy with the seven seats allotted to the GVP by the ruling alliance, Mickky said “I cannot ask for heaven when I know GVP’s limitations. I did not ask for specific seats. It is not proper to demand seats. I am happy with seven seats”.
He slammed the Independent candidates intending to contest the coming election saying these independents are keeping their legs in both the BJP and the Congress, when they are neither in the two parties.
He also criticized the Congress for not contesting the coming ZP polls, accusing the opposition party for its time-tested policy of not fielding candidates and then claiming the victorious candidates as their party workers.
Replying to a question, Mickky said that the GVP is committed to support the BJP-led government for full five years as per the mandate given by the people of Goa. “The GVP is committed to support the present government for the full five-year term”, Mickky added.
