Final seat sharing arrangement today

MARGAO: After backroom manoeuvring and hard bargaining over the last one week, the ruling combine will finally unveil on Friday the seat sharing agreement between the BJP-MGP-GVP for the ensuing Zilla Panchayat polls.

Transport Minister and MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar on Thursday said the MGP-BJP combine will lay bare before the people of Goa the seat sharing arrangement between the two parties.
“At this stage, it is not important as to which party will pocket either 10, 12 or 25 seats. What is important is that the ruling combine successfully takes the alliance before the people of Goa for the coming polls”, Dhavalikar told the media on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying function of the widening work on the Raia killer road.
“I am happy that the ruling parties have struck an alliance deal which will be unveiled before the people of Goa on Friday. I was personally interested in the continuance of the alliance. So was Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, presidents of both the BJP and MGP, besides BJP general secretary Satish Dhond”, Dhavalikar said.
Asked to specify the number of seats the BJP have conceded to the MGP, the MGP leader said that the alliance will make the seat understanding between the two parties public on Friday.
