PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will conduct supplementary exams of 1,347 HSSC students on June 15, of whom close to 10 percent are appearing to improve their performance.
The exams will be conducted at two centres – DMC Higher Secondary at Mapusa and Government Multipurpose HSS at Margao while the results are expected in the first week of July.
“Students failing in maximum two subjects are appearing for the examination. However, this comes as a relief for those students who have passed the exams but not satisfied with their performance in certain subjects. They too can appear for not more than two subjects,” an official said. The students appearing to ‘improve’ marks in selected subjects constitute 10 percent or less of the total strength, he said.
The State recorded the highest ever 88.10 pass percentage for HSSC exams, which was conducted from March 2 to March 20 at 16 examination centres across the State. Out of 15,708 students who appeared for the exam, 13838 passed, and an additional 468 exempted candidates who re-appeared had only 162 cleared.
Meanwhile, the Goa Board, for the first time, will also hold supplementary exams for SSC students on June 24 with ATKT system withdrawn from this year.
