The inaugural function of 2nd Goa Traffic Police Road Safety Summer Camp was
held at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar recently. DGP Goa Dr. Muktesh
Chander inaugurated the camp in the presence of IGP Goa Jaspal Singh, SP
Traffic Shri Dinraj Govenker, DYSP Traffic Dharmesh Angle.
The function was attended by 135 students from various schools
in Tiswadi Taluka, their teachers, parents, etc.

On the first day of the camp, Fr. Savio Gomes, Principal Don
Bosco Higher Secondary, Panaji gave a talk on the need of road safety awareness
amongst the students, Sanjeev Sardesai, Historian and an eminent personality
from Panaji city gave a wonderful presentation on Road Safety and enlightened
students on the importance of road safety. Dr. Mahendra Kudchadkar, Orthopedic
surgeon gave a talk on healthy driving habits and post accident trauma. A
demonstration of self defence and karate was presented by Shri. Jagdish Bhobe, Chief
Instructor, WSKF Goa and Dr. Kiran Kerkar.
On the second day, a talk on anti drugs/narcotics was given by
PSI ANC PS, a talk on child abuse was given by Adv. Emidio Pinho of SCAN Goa, a
talk on road safety was given by Miss Norma of Group Priority, a demonstration
on Yoga was given by Dr, Kiran Kerkar, a quiz on road safety and a drawing
competition for the participating students (theme – Road Safety) was also held.
The prize winners for Drawing competition saw the 1st place
going to Lekhraj Surlakar, 2nd place going to Shrinjan Ghosh and 3rd place
going to Pratiksha Kesarkar.
Similarly the prize winners for Quiz competition were awarded to
Preet Satardekar (1st place), Advait Mudras (2nd place) and Shivani Sharma (3rd
place).
A special consolation prize in drawing competition was given to
Om Dhargalkar of LKG.

Goa Shri Jaspal Singh handed over the prizes to the winners of the contest and
gave a message to the students of Goa on the importance of road safety and to
inculcate good discipline on roads. SP Traffic Dinraj Govenker, DYSP Traffic
Dharmesh Angle and PI Traffic Panaji Brendan de Souza also shared their views
on road safety and awareness.
