Mallikarjun, Swezial bag top honours at Goa Police’s 10th Anti Narcotic Run

PANJIM: Mallikarjun MS (35:49), Bhuwan Chandra Suyal (36:09) and Hari Velip (37:37) bagged the first three places in the men category at the 10th edition of Anti Narcotics Run organised by the Anti Narcotics Cell of Goa Police, on Sunday. In the women category, Swezial D’Souza (51:19) stood first, while the second and third place was secured by Clarissa Costa (54:59) and Ankita Velip (55:52) respectively.

Around 500 plus runners participated in the event, which was managed by Yoska (organisers of the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa ). Chief guest Minister for River Navigation Subhash Phal Dessai in the presence of Anti Narcotics Cell Superintendent of Police Akshat Kaushal, IPS, flagged off the run at the Taleigao Plateau.

Director General of Police Jaspal Singh was present for the prize distribution ceremony.

Speaking to the O Heraldo SP Akshat said, “The message behind the race is to send a message to all citizens, especially youth, to stay away from drugs. At ANC we lay a lot of emphasises on educating the youth about the ill-effects of drugs. We are asking the participants to chase the runner’s high and not the high they get from drugs.”
