PANJIM: The Mormugao Port Authority’s (MPA) new cruise terminal work is expected to be completed within next six months, informed MPA Chairman N Vinodkumar Nair on Friday.
Speaking at one-day conference on the theme “Port of the Future” jointly organised by the MPA and the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, at The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula, Vinodkumar said, 70 per cent of the structural work was complete and remaining work was expected to be completed by September this year. After this another four months will be needed for putting the facilities in place, he said. Last year, the MPA cruise terminal catered to around 1.2 lakh passengers including 90,000 domestic passengers, he added.
