Verdict on Mopa land fraud on Oct 12

PANJIM: The Additional Sessions Court, Mapusa will on October 12 pronounce its verdict on anticipatory bail plea filed by Kenneth Silveira, one of the six accused in a case of fraudulent sale of land at Mopa. 

Silveira has sought relief from the court after Crime Branch issued him a notice in connection with the investigation.

While the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Pernem has rejected the bail application filed by Chicalim resident Franky Gonsalves, who is the only arrested person in the case so far. 

The accused had earlier approached the Sessions Court North Goa with an application for grant of anticipatory bail, which was dismissed on February 24, 2021. He was arrested thereafter and is currently in judicial custody.
