Goa Bench of Bombay High Court today stayed arrest warrant issued against A Pingle, Vice President of Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Limited.
Pingle was issued warrant by labour department responding to the complaint filed by an employee Vallabh Prabhudesai for failing to pay his provident fund dues dating back to 1997-98.
Justice N A Britto today stayed the warrant.
S M Singbal, lawyer for Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Limited told court that the multinational company has paid the dues and hence point in keeping back a few thousand rupees is useless.
Prabhudesai had complained that the beverage firm had failed to pay Rs 1 lakh in PF dues, which if proven is a non-bailable offence.
