Salcete Mamlatdar, Paresh Faldessai on Tuesday ordered attachment of a JCB machine and two trucks which were found near a hill cutting site at Cuncolim.
Following a complaint from the Mamlatdar, the Cuncolim police later arrested four persons, including the operator and truck drivers, under section 41 of the IPC
The Mamlatdar along with his team rushed to Cuncolim at the Industrial Estate after the office of the deputy Collector Dipak Dessai received a complaint of hill cutting.
When the team reached the site, they found the JCB machine and two trucks, which were later attached and towed to the Cuncolim police station.
When contacted, Cuncolim police told Herald that the police are investigating into the matter to find out the people involved in the illegal hill cutting. Sources in the know say that the same person was involved in hill cutting activity in the area in the recent past.
