In Goa crimes are increasing with every passing day. The Government of the day is never concerned or bothered about them, on the contrarily the politicians interference in the day to day affairs of policing of the State is hampering an honest police Investigation.
The controversial investigation from day one into the mysterious death of Fr Bismarque Dias is one of many cases how officers of Goa Police failed mainly due to ill-training, inefficiency and politician’s interference. The Old Goa police personnel had badly failed to conduct proper panchnama at the crime site. A duly proved panchnama entrusts genuineness of investigation which helps to prove case beyond all reasonable doubt.
The police should have cordoned off the entire area immediately where Fr Bismarque’s belongings were found and it was totally wrong to request the people of village to retrieve the body of the deceased before arrival of the police. Secondly the police also failed to question the person who found Fr Bismarque personal belongings. Are police aware as to how his belonging positioned at the crime site? Whether they were scattered or neatly placed together at one place. It seems that the only thing police did is to take statement of two boys and wait for post-mortem report of the deceased body. Is this all taught to police personnel of Goa Police, why the police can’t be proactive to clear the doubt of the relatives/friend/people of the victims.
Also it is high time for the Government to make its priority for Goa to have a full-fledged Forensic Science Laboratory. People cannot be made to wait for month’s sometime years to get justice and criminals to roam freely to the extent of committing more crimes. As Goa is a tourist’s state and many tourists died under mysterious circumstances the Goa Government cannot sit passively and at the same time request tourists to visit our State.
Fr Bismarque Dias was not an ordinary person. He was intelligent, truthful and full of love. He was badly betrayed by some of his Clergy colleagues just to hide their evil deeds by selling large track of Church properties across Goa and they are partly responsible for the death of dear Bismarque.
Fr Bismarque looked at everything on this earth with kind heart but he was definitely a thorn for politicians/bureaucrats and mafia-cultured builders lobby and now doubt arise with regards to CM Laxmikant Parsekar theory that he was personally monitoring the investigation from day one. If so what our CM is monitoring and what are consequences of his monitoring so far. Mr CM are you really monitoring or interfering in the Investigation from day one? It would have been better for the CM to request the DGP to monitor the investigation and give justice to his family/friends/Goans and as Home Minister just perform his duties to get the required facilities and infrastructures for Goa Police to perform criminal investigation efficiently.
