Margao: Former Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco has demanded a postponement of the panchayat elections 2017 citing problems in delimitation and reservation process.
Mickky said dissent was increasing with regards the reservation and delimitation process by the day. He was speaking at press interaction. He alleged that even the Congress is a party to the favoritism and has informed that people have brought up cases with regards to delimitation and reservation.
He said “A ward with only 2 OBC houses has been reserved for the OBC and it looks bizzare. Every decision of the Government of Goa is being challenged and is being struck down by Courts. Is this Governance.?” Mickky has demanded the government conduct a proper study of the statistical data of the wards and then make decisions. Mickky said the election needs to be postponed till further date looking at the ambiguity in the entire process. “If the 12-13 ministers are conducting elections then the CM Parrikar has to think whether the Govt functioning is sound or not. According to me there is no government on today” said Mickky.
