MAPUSA: Goan Warriors registered a 7-5 win via tie-breaker over Goa Velha SC, to move ahead in the Vagator Soccer Cup, played at Ozren ground, Vagator on Wednesday.
The teams were locked in a 2-2 draw at the end of the regulation time.
Goan Warrior took the lead through Vishal Salgaonkar through a neat placement, while Goa Velha’s Joseph Rodrigues equalised from a well executed free kick.
Minutes later Goa Velha took the lead as Chandan Gawas scored with a neat half volley.
It did not take long for Goa Warrior to level terms as Gauresh Bugde connected his header for the equalizer, 2-2.
In the penalty shootout Goan Warriors scored five goals while Goa Velha managed to convert only three.
