MARGAO: The spar between friends turned foes, GVP supremo Mickky Pacheco and his challenger Wilfred D’Sa continued on polling day as well.
While Mickky said that his candidate Marcelinho Faria would romp home with 60 per cent of the votes, Wilfred said that the RDA Minister is weak in mathematics, while exuding confidence in claiming the Nuvem seat with 70 per cent votes. “Even during school days, Mickky was weak in math and calculations. I do not know how he has arrived at the figure of 60-40 per cent votes in his favour,” Wilfred said.
While Mickky said that his candidate will even garner sizeable votes from the ward where Wilfred is living, the latter shot back saying that he expects to win the seat by a margin of 3000 votes.
Both Mickky and Wilfred had left nothing to chance in the run up to the zilla panchayat polls. In fact, while Mickky sought to play down a question asked whether he took election for the Nuvem as a prestige issue, Wilfred reiterated that he had all along considered the ZP election as a semi final before he takes on the GVP supremo from Nuvem in the 2017 Assembly polls.
