PANJIM: The Spaces building at Patto Plaza, which houses courts and judicial offices, was sealed on Monday after a staff was tested positive for COVID-19. The health workers carried out sanitisation of the entire building even as the Court has decided to take up only urgent matters in the e-court or District Court at Mapusa.
It is learnt that the woman staff was on leave for close to a week during which she tested positive for the COVID. The advocates and anyone who came in contact with the staff has nevertheless been advised to get themselves tested as precaution.
“We have learnt just today that a staff from the registration section in Spaces Building and her husband have tested COVID-19 positive. The concerned staff is said to be on leave for the last six days and has tested positive during this period of absence,” message circulating on advocates WhatsApp group stated.
“However all those advocates who may have come in contact with the staff, before she proceeded on leave, may consider getting themselves tested as a precaution. Also all lawyers are requested not to attend Spaces or District Court building for the next few days as sanitisaton drive is being conducted today,” the message further stated.
Urgent matters from Spaces Building will now be placed before the e-court in District Court, Panjim and Senior Division matters will be heard before any senior Judge at Mapusa.
The Civil Registration matters which were scheduled on Monday were taken up, but only restricted to very urgent cases.
