In response to the alleged pay parking scam
faced by Panjim locals, CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate said that no legal action
can be taken until the locals file a formal complaint to the authorities. He
further adds that they have not received any complaint letter pertaining to the
pay parking.
On Friday, CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate was questioned on the growing pay parking issues and the damaged sign boards of pay parking. Observing the concerns raised by the public, he stated, “We’ve also noticed the plight of the signboards, so we have told the Commissioner to send a notice letter to the concerned pay parking contractor and to ask him to replace all the pay parking boards.”

When asked about the verbal abuse faced by the Panjim locals from the pay parking ticket collector, Monserrate replied, “Everyone is speaking about this issue verbally but nothing has been officially put on record. Without proof what are we going to tell the contractor? As far as tourists or locals, nobody has come forward to raise this issue. We cannot action until a complaint is filed.”
He further assured by saying that if anyone files a formal complaint then an action will definitely be taken against the concerned contractor.
