Accused grilled for links to Vasco rape
MARGAO: Crime Branch sleuths interrogated accused Venkappa Kundri late last night to find out whether accused Venkappa Kundri was involved in the Vasco girl rape case.
Sources said that PI Sunita Sawant along with senior police officers descended at the GMC late last night to interrogate the accused. Incidentally, the accused was also found wearing a pair of earrings, and the police tried to find out whether his description tallied with the sketch of the accused in the Vasco case.
Sources in the Konkan railway police station said the photograph of the accused will be shown to the Vasco rape victim as part of the investigation. Incidentally, the police are trying to find out whether accused Venkappa Kundri is in possession of a mobile phone, since he has denied using any mobile phone.
