MARGAO: Maina Curtorim police have registered a case of wrongful restraint and causing hurt against three youngsters from Guirdolim following a complaint lodged by one Antonio Bernard alias Benny Mascarenhas from Molla, Cavorim, Chandor.
According to the complaint, Benny was proceeding from his house to Manovikas School to drop his son for special classes, when a car in front of him at the level crossing was driven in an odd manner as the car would move ahead and then halt thereby making it difficult to drive or take over.
When they reached the junction ahead of the level crossing at Guirdolim, the car stopped and three youngsters came out and asked Benny to get out of the car and as he refused they smashed the windscreen and damaged the car and pulled him out of the car.
Benny’s 14-year-old son who was in the car, ran to the police outpost nearby and arrived with police even as the trio began assaulting Benny as the crowd merely stood by watching. As the police arrived the trio fled from the scene.
The trio was identified as Neves Diniz, Shelton D’Costa and Steven whose surname is not known. The trio is apparently hiding as they are not found at their houses or other known places they visit.
Police have registered a case against the trio under Sections 341, 504, 323 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code with PSI Rohan Nageshkar investigating the matter.
