Holders Salgaocar Veterans scored a comfortable 4-0 win over Verna Veterans to move into the semi-finals of Salgaocar Memorial Veterans Soccer organised by Prime Sports Club, at Nagoa panchayat ground, on Saturday.
Salgaocar surged ahead through striker Domingos Vaz who latched on to a Lawrence Gomes free kick which beat Verna goalkeeper Inacio Gama. Soon, Alfred Fernandes scored two quick goals for Salgaocar.
After the change of ends, Lawrence rounded off the tally for Salgaocar.
Earlier, chief guest Domingos Dias, Nagoa Sarpanch inaugurated the tournament in the presence of guest of honour, Caitu D’Silva, Soccorro Coutinho and club secretary, Boaventura Leitao.
