At various locations, we come across instances where cars and buses are seen parked near sharp turns and blind turns.
The situation seems dangerous for motorists and pedestrians. Those wishing to cross the road are the worst-affected due to poor visibility of proceeding vehicles amidst the already parked ones on turns. There is every possibility of a serious mishap taking place sooner or later.
The location near Maruti temple at Varkhandem in Ponda is one such instance. Company vehicles as well as private buses are parked near the turn.
Another such instance is near Almeida High School, Ponda, in the vicinity of old bus-stand. Seen in the picture is a company vehicle parked at this spot during late evening. Company officials are also dropped off at this spot.
Such a situation hampers smooth movement of vehicular traffic and vehicles get delayed to a great extent.
Let us hope that the concerned officials at the Road Transport Office and the Traffic Cell will take a serious note of this important matter and initiate stringent action against those parking their vehicles on or near sharp turns. No doubt, discipline on the main road must be imbibed at all costs.
