SGF not to contest Valpoi by-election

The Save Goa Front has decided not to contest the by-poll for the Valpoi constituency and instead resolved to serious focus on the general elections which will be held soon.
SGF President Antonio Gauncar said the party members have unanimously decided not to contest the bypolls as the Valpoi elections will be for a temporary period only.
He said the party has also resolved to support the ST, SC & OBC Federation’s request o the government to get the views and opinions of the public before notifying the reservation of wards for the Municipal polls so as to avoid the problems that arose at the time of notifying wrong wards at the Panchayat elections.
