MARGAO: The South Goa Sessions court on Saturday sentenced a resident of Velim, Ubaldo Fernandes (45) to one year rigorous imprisonment under section 326 of the IPC. A Fast Track Court headed by Vincent D’Silva, however, stayed the operation of the sentence for a period of one month to allow the convict to appeal.
The accused was charged by the Cuncolim police under sections 324 and 326 of IPC.
