VASCO: Vasco police arrested two persons for the theft that had occurred on March 7, 2020 at Baina.
PI Nilesh Rane said that a naval officer had filed a complaint stating that on March 7, after parking his car outside, he was attending a programme at Ravindra Bhavan. When he returned to his car, its glass was found broken and his bag from the car was missing. The bag was containing cash of Rs 1.26 lakh, a mobile phone, a wristwatch and some documents.

He said that police suspected that one Manjunath Chikverimanath (26) alias ‘Batato’, a resident of Baina, was involved in the crime. Incidentally, ‘Batato’ had gone into hiding after the theft. The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday during patrolling in Baina.
On interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to committing the theft along with one Tanveer Syed (32), a resident of Servant quarters NOFRA.
PI Rane disclosed that several cases have been registered against Tanveer Syed in other police stations, too.
