PWD contract workers to intensify agitation

PANJIM: PWD contract workers have threatened to intensify their agitation if the State government continues to turn a blind eye to their long-pending demands of regularisation of services and abolition of labour contract.

In a joint press conference on Saturday, the PWD Contract Workers Union (CWU) and PWD Labour Supplies Society Employees Union (LSSEU) reminded that on October 1 they had given the government 21 days to fulfill their demands failing which the agitation would be intensified.
“The notice was served to government on October 1, giving it 21 days time to fulfill our demands. They are left with three days. If our demands are not met, we will hold a morcha across the State,” LSSEU President Ajit Singh Rane said.
Earlier during the day the union held a general body meeting discussing their long pending demand.
