PANJIM: Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has urged the Centre to impress upon Karnataka to utilise Rs 58 crore sanctioned to it for the development of the Chorla Ghat Road.
In a letter addressed to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, the industry body has said that a proper road which connects Belagavi and Goa is necessary to address the logistics woes of the industry.
In the letter, it has been pointed out that despite previous efforts by GCCI, the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Bellary District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, no positive outcome has resulted regarding the bad and unmotorable shape of the connecting road between Goa and Karnataka through Chorla Ghat.
