PANJIM: Bicholim Cricket Club defeated Iqbal XI by 68 runs in the final of Bandodkar Knock-Out T20 tournament organised by Panjim Gymkhana, at Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal-Panjim, recently.
Batting first, Bicholim CC posted a huge total of 197/4 in the allotted 20 overs. Alam Khan (69) was the top scorer, while Rahul Keni (41) and Sriniwas Phadte (41) made handy contribution with the bat as Bicholim CC established their upper hand onto the proceedings right away in the all-important final.

Iqbal XI bowlers failed to make an impression in general with Mukhtar Kadri, Badal Singh and Ajinkya Kudtarkar picking up one wicket each.
In their chase, Iqbal XI were all out for 129 in 16.3 overs. Sarfaraz Nawaz (33), Shubham Naik (22) and Bharat Arkas (20) were amongst the runs but none of them could build on the start as the batting department suffered a collective failure.
Bicholim CC bowling unit succeeded in picking up wickets at will, with Raju Dabholkar (3/22), Vinesh Satarkar (2/15) and Tushar Sawant (2/32) being the key wicket-takers.
Bicholim CC bagged Rs 50,000 along with the trophy while runners-up Iqbal XI were presented Rs 25,000 and a trophy. President of Panjim Gymkhana, Manoj Caculo and other dignitaries gave away the prizes.
A trophy and Rs 5,000 each were presented in the form of individual prizes: Man-of-the-match: Alam Khan (Bicholim CC), Best batter: Imran Mulla (Iqbal XI), Best bowler: Gauresh Nagvekar (Bicholim) and Man-of-the-series: Shubham Naik (Iqbal XI).
