MARGAO: The Carmona Panchayat at its meeting on Wednesday decided to issue stop work order to the commercial project coming up at Olvaddo which has got a technical sanction from the Town and Country Planning Department.
The panchayat would also appeal before the Additional Director of Panchayats against the Deputy Director of Panchayat’s order in favour of the promoters of the commercial project that is threatening to block the access to two residential houses there.
The panchayat had refused construction licence on grounds that the site plan of the promoters did not even show the two residential houses existing adjacent to the properties and the promoters appealed against this before the Deputy Director of Panchayats.
The deputy director of Panchayats held that the access to the two houses is not shown on the survey plan and hence permitted the promoters to go ahead with their construction. However, Carmona Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge while pointing out that most access to houses are not reflected on the Survey Plan, said the panchayat will appeal against the order while also issuing stop work order to the builder of the commercial project.
