VASCO: A newly-wed 25-year-old woman from Vasco allegedly committed suicide on Friday. The police said that victim, married to a Police constable attached to ATS, used a saree to hang herself from a ceiling fan at her residence in Mangor Hill, Vasco. The victim has been identified as Nandini Tikali and she was married to the police constable Narsimha Tikali some six months ago.
“No suicide note was found and the cause of Nandini taking the extreme step could not be ascertained yet,” police told.
Since the suicide occurred within seven years of marriage, a magisterial inquiry has been initiated by Mormugao Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mahadev Arondekar.
