PANJIM: Against the backdrop of the murders of two women on Friday, the Congress Mahila Morcha has accused the government of failing to ensure the safety of women in Goa and has decided to launch a helpline for women in distress.
Addressing media persons, Mahila Morcha Congress president Sunit Verenkar said the State is shocked with the murders of a well known perfume specialist and an elderly lady. “More than 24 hours have passed and police have failed to nab the accused. This is the law and order situation in the State,” she said.
“The party has decided to launch a helpline for women in distress. They can call up on the helpline and we will be there to provide support,” she said.
