PANJIM: Playing their inaugural edition, Bidesh XI Sports Club walked away being the champions of the Goa Football Association-Vedanta Women’s League with a game in hand.
The debutant club won three games and drew two to remain unbeaten in the league as they play against PVC Parra in the final league encounter. Bidesh managed to collect eleven points from five games and are at the top.
Bidesh XI have now qualified for the Indian Women’s League. The winners will get Rs 75,000 while the runners-up will get Rs 50,000 and the third placed team will have to be content with Rs 15,000.
The fixture will be a crucial tie for PVC Parra as they will be battling for the third place. PVC Parra won two, drew one and lost two and are with seven points, level with second placed Albert Developers.
Meanwhile Albert Developers, who are also with seven points, will clash with bottom placed Churchill Brothers in the final league match.
