VASCO: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said that the locals should take utmost benefits of the medical schemes meant for people by Goa government.
Sardesai also said that Mhadei River is the lifeline of Goa and to protect it he has taken up the issue.
He also pointed that Goan farmers should take up organic farming.
Goa Forward Party president and former minister for Agriculture Sardesai inaugurated a health camp organised by Cortalim Panch Anita Devendra Kenkre, recently.
In that function, Sardessai opined that regular health camps and checkups will help in identifying and keeping tabs on the health issues of the locals.
He in his address mentioned that the local people should take utmost benefits of the medical schemes meant for the common people by State government.
“Farmers should take up organic farming which will be very beneficial and of much demand in the near future.”
Sardesai also reminded that the losses incurred by the farmers for their crops should get their compensation in time.
Commenting on the Mhadei issue, Sardesai emphasised that Mhadei River is the lifeline of Goa. Without Mhadei River, Goa’s ecology will affect badly.
“Knowing the vital importance of Mhadei River to Goa, he has taken up the Mhadei issue and is fighting to protect Mhadei,” he added.
This health camp was organised in Datta Mandir Hall, Galio. Present for inauguration were Dr Varsha Kuvelkar e Kamat, ex sarpanch and present panch Antonio Joao Fernandes, and for the concluding function parish priest Fr Pio Almeida and panch Raymond D’Sa were present.
Around 300 people took the benefit of the medical camp organised by Anita Devendra Kenkre, VP Cortalim panch and treasurer of Mormugao Mahila Shakti Abhiyan.
